When Dr. Don Harris of Avian & Exotic Animal Centre, an Exotic Animal Veterinary Specialist alerted me his patient, Lola the tortoise, had an unusual item in his digestive system, I was intrigued. When he explained the item appeared to be a ‘turtle pendant’ it was obvious this was a situation that screamed media coverage!
Dr. Harris and his life-saving expertise garnered local, state, national and international media attention; as far away as England!
