It is an honor and pleasure taking part in the 2016 American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Chico event!
This year’s event, held October 15, 2016 brought out a crowd of thousands. Community members in Chico, California turned out in full force to support the efforts of the American Cancer Society in raising funds to assist those fighting breast cancer.
Volunteer walkers raised more than $63-thousand dollars, with funds being put to use locally for educational and support programs for those living with the disease.
JYMG is proud to be one of the newest members of the Chico community so being invited to take part in this event and offer my professional and personal services proved to be more rewarding than I could have imagined. I was pleased to make a guest appearance on Chico’s Action News Now to promote the event and to provide photography and videography services the day of the event. A huge THANK YOU to all of the participants willing to be photographed and for those who shared their thoughts in video interviews – everyone was AMAZING!
As most of you know, I have spent most of my broadcast journalism career working to identify and tell stories which have a positive and/or educational impact on the community. So as I continue to build my network here in Northern California, being able to work with the team at the American Cancer Society and the local media offices of Action News Now is another reminder of why it is important to stay true to one’s journalistic beliefs.
Thank You Chico for such a warm welcome. I look forward to more projects with local colleagues and using my years of experience to bring a host of stories to life! Be sure to contact JYMG to learn how we can assist in telling YOUR story.
Until next time~
